What Does Your AGD Have to do With Male Fertility?
First, off Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! Hopefully you will be celebrating in the good ways that the Irish are known for (I can say this especially because I am half Irish myself and enjoy a good brew and cocktail fairly often). Be safe and have fun! And oh, our topic today is a very interesting one.
This has to do with something called AGD, which stands for a rather unsavory acronym which describes the length of space in measurement from the man’s anus to the male scrotum. They have found a new correlation between this measurement of this rather small and fairly insignificant space and a man’s fertility.
They say that there is a definite distinction they can show between men who have a longer distance from their scrotum to their anus and having a better chance at getting a woman pregnant.
There are many factors that determine this in a man, but this distance of space in this sensitive area actually can be determined in the womb when the guy is but a wee thing in his mother’s belly.
They found a correlation between men with a shorter measurement in AGD and women who were exposed to a lot of a chemical called pthalates when they were pregnant, which are common chemicals that are thought to be harmful which are found in things like toothpaste, soaps, and shampoos.
If a man can be measured for this AGD measurement and is found to be under the acceptable limit, chances are that there is something wrong that could be causing infertility, and it could be a very easy test to determine whether it’s the guy or the woman who is having problems conceiving for couples who want to have a baby.
Good to know, because this could potentially save you a lot of time and money trying to have a baby!
