Viagra Linked to Hearing Loss Over Time?
The all time favorite erectile enhancement drug Viagra, has just been noted for another possible side effect, which the maker already acknowledges in their FDA required warning labels as a potential risk to those that take it long term. The risk of hearing loss has new attention drawn to it now thanks to a study that looked at over 10,000 men in a database who had reported hearing loss.
There were a statistically significant portion fo these men who were on Viagra, but there were also a smaller number of them who were on the other two biggies in erectile dysfunction, Levitra and Cialis.
There is no known 100% reason why this hearing loss may occur over time, but researchers are thinking it has something to do with the increased blood flow it causes, which may cause more pressure on the ear’s inner workings, causing potential long term hearing loss. Especially if a guy is on this drug for years, the rates of hearing loss may go up.
Even though Viagra does have some potential side effects, the benefits seem to outweigh the risks for most men, and it remains the top selling erectile enhancement and male sexual enhancement drug on the market today.
Some men may find it’s competitors Levitra and Cialis more effective for their particular body chemistry though, it really depends on the guy and what the underlying problems are that are causing him to have erectile issues or even premature ejaculation.
