Sexy Hard Rock, Heavy Metal

So, is the reason that the primary audience for really hard edged rock and heavy metal bands are men that they are an instinctually sexual natured music?  Seriously though – the beats are almost of a sexual nature – they tend to make one think of wild, unbridled sex and the best sex they ever had at that.  Any guy who hasn’t imagined some sort of cool song along with their biggest crushes and fantasies in women (think Fast Times at Ridgemont High’s Phoebe Cates to the Car’s Moving in stereo, a highly sexualized song in my opinion), swaying to the tune of some etherially sexual beat?

There are some songs that just evoke thoughts of sex and sexuality, that’s all there is to it, and most people say that there are certain types of music or certain songs that make them feel uber sexual and in the mood to do some procreating.  How about other sex scenes like the one in Wild At Heart, an albeit average sex scene that seemed a little contrived and overdone, but was set to the beat of guitars (yes, cheesy, but nonetheless got the sense of reckless, wild abandonment of the scene of two young lovers going at it every two second got it’s point across just fine).

There have been groups that copulate to different rhythmic beats as rituals, and this is a perfect example of how music influences us sexually.  They say that your favorite songs are the ones that either touch you in a personally emotional way or rub you in a way that makes you feel very intimate and sexually forward.  It makes sense if you think about it because that’s what music is there to do, and we all know what a sexual society we are as well as what primarily drives us as human beings.  Besides security and acceptance, it seems to be sex, otherwise it wouldn’t take up so much of our discussion.
