Sex and Burning Calories

Sex is a great way to not only enjoy yourself and open you up to new sensations and feelings, but it’s also a great way to help your weight loss and weight management program, as it turns out.  This doesn’t mean you can just lay there though, you gotta really get into it, maybe try some new positions and of course participate in foreplay, which prolongs the sexual experience and also makes it more intense, but can also boost the calorie burning and slimming abilities of your sexual forays with your partner.

It’s actuallly a two way street between shedding weight and keeping in shape, because the more in shape you are, the more you want to have sex.  Your self image of your body has a lot to do with how often you want to have sex, since you tend to enjoy it much more when you feel like your body looks sexy, and this goes for both men and women – it’s not just women as conventionally thought.  Sure, us guys are almost always horndogs even when we’re twenty pounds overweight, but we also feel a lot better about sexual acts and jumping in the sack and taking our clothes off when we know we’re revealing a trim, muscular frame instead of a puny or paunchy physique.

Sex does burn calories, especially the more vigorous it is, the more complex the position, and the longer the sessions go.  It brings you and your partner closer, and makes you both feel loved and needed, as well as sexually desired, so it adds to the closeness.  Working out and having lots of healthy, sweaty sex time is excellent not only for the libido, but also for your mental health.

I notice that the more I’m having sex with my girlfriend, that better I feel about myself and the better I treat her and the better she treats me.  Why is it that we get so caught up in live’s little nuances that we forget how sex can really take a load off a relationship?

Sex not only makes for a better mood and tone in a relationship, but it is incredibly stress reducing and those that have sex more often with their partners report better ability to curb their anxiety on their own, and have better cholesterol levels as well as better blood pressure readings.  The endorphins are also high when sex happens, which contributes to the overall glow of sex which has us feeling like we could run a marathon afterwards, or are so spent and content that we could fall asleep and be happy as clams.   Either way, it’s beneficial to your health.
