Protein Powder for Muscle Building
If you’re trying to build muscle and burn fat right now, like I happen to be before a big trip I have, then you may have considered making some protein shakes, which are generally great for helping you to build muscle and burn fat, and also to fuel your workouts and energy levels with a good mix of carbs and protein.
Men especially can benefit from a good protein powder, and lots of men who are body and fitness conscious, including men who body build, use these body building, fat minimizing protein powders to get themselves ripped and/or bulky in certain areas when they are weight training.
It can really boost your workouts and add to your bottom line. So, how do you actually use protein powder to build muscle? Well, generally, it is recommended that you consume protein shakes within about one hour of doing your workout, especially if you are doing a weight workout for building muscle. You should try to make the protein shake low fat, so if you are using a yogurt, then try to use the lowest fat yogurt you can get your hands on, and make sure that it’s lower carb too.
For example, I like to use the Carb Control yogurts, because they have very low carbs and sugars, and they are the perfect consistency to make a smoothie or a protein shake because they are thick and creamy yet not too sweet.
In addition, you can add fruit to it or even add some ground flax seeds to bulk it up a little, make it a little more fulfilling, and also to add bulk producing fiber. Bulk producing means that it helps waste move throughout your digestive system and on out, so that you retain less water and less fat, and this produces a sort of cleansing effect on the body which helps to keep your muscle showing better through the fat, as well as helps to get rid of that fat that’s covering up all that awesome muscle so it is more visible and your work is not for nothing.
By consuming your protein powder in a shake or smoothie with fruit or flax seed ground up, you are also stabilizing your blood sugar, which has been proven to help burn fat and create more lean muscle instead, since when your body is burning excess calories and not holding onto them, you are in an ideal cycle of calorie burning and muscle building, and your body is running at peak performance, which is ideal for building muscle and working out with the right stamina.
