Pheromone Studies Prove….What?

Pheromones are a human phenomenon that are controversial because it’s unknown by what exact mechanism they work, and exactly why they are so powerful.  They are not only a human pheonomena though, they also are a powerful chemical that holds sway over other creatures in the animal kingdom. Most notably, and most studied because they are the easiest to study, are ants.

Ants rely on these chemicals to communicate to one another.  If you think about it, it’s pretty amazing that we actually sense these chemicals with our olfactory sensors, and yet we don’t actually know that we’re “smelling” anything because it has no detectable odor. Hence, the power they hold.  Everyone can come up with some time when they were inexplicably attracted to someone.

They may not even be your type, but somehow, you can’t seem to deny their magnetism?  Quite possibly, during times like these, pheromones were at work.  Pheromones are a very primitive, but very powerful form of communication between humans when it comes to sexual attraction.

One of the most compelling studies done on these naturally occuring chemicals was one where male twins went out to public places, one with a pheromone cologne on and one without a pheromone cologne on. The twin who wore the powerful pheromone cologne actually got more attention from women and clearly had more “mojo”.

Now, you could say that could be due to personality or just sheer luck, but other studies have concluded that there is something more to pheromones than meets the eye.  Decide for yourself. Try going out one night with a pheromone cologne on and then one without and judge for yourself if you seem to be getting more attention than without.
