German Celebrity Sentenced for Infecting Partners with HIV
In what may be a precedent-setting case for other similar ones, a woman who has known she was HIV positive for ten years plus (at the time it was about ten), has been sentenced in her role in giving a sexual partner the HIV virus. The woman, named Nadja, is actually a really gorgeous singer whose singing group No Angels is huge over in Germany. She has known she was HIV positive since the tender young age of 16, while she was pregnant with a daughter, and she is now 28.
Apparently, she had sex multiple times with partners both without telling them that she was HIV positive but also without protection. One of her sexual partners ended up testing positive for HIV. As for how the rest of the men found out she was HIV positive, or how the guy who has it now found out, I do not know, perhaps hearsay?
She basically handed a man a death sentence, and could have handed more men a death sentence, and she got off pretty light. Maybe she was in denial and though that she wouldn’t pass it along when having unprotected sex, but one fact was clear from her trial. She was afraid to disclose her ailment to anyone for fear it could jeopardize her career or her or her daughter’s reputation.
The jury ended up sympathizing with her and handed her a very light sentence considering what she did.
