Diabetic Men and Damaged Sperm

Men with diabetes may be suffering a somewhat unexpected side effect of the blood sugar and insuling resistence disorder.  Men with diabetes may have damaged sperm, which can render them infertile and unable to reproduce with their female partners in some cases.

The studies on men’s sperm involved healthy men without diabetes and men with type-1 diabetes and came to the conclusion that not only do men with diabetes produce less semen during ejaculation, but also tend to have damaged sperm at a higher, statistically significant rate than men without this type of diabetes.

Damaged sperm can not only affect male fertility, but it has also been linked to couples that have miscarriages althought the exact cause for this is not known currently.  The study was only on men with type-1 diabetes which is mostly hereditary in nature, and has not yet been done that I know of, on men with type-2 diabetes, which is fairly common these days unfortunately.  Type-2 diabetes is on-set, meaning it’s not genetic but rather is usually caused by lifestyle choices such as obesity, bad diet habits and lack of physical activity.

Anxiety Over Erectile Dysfunction Worsens Condition

Erectile Dysfunction.  It’s a very common physically materialized condition that scores of men suffer from.  But is erectile dysfunction really all a physical affliction, or is it also contributed to by the power of the mind, or psychosomatically induced?

Well, many experts agree that while erectile dysfunction can certainly be brought about by physical conditions such as chronic diabetes, terminal illnesses, certain medications, multiple sclerosis, and other autoimmune and nervous system diseases, and spinal cord injuries, to name a few, it can also be worsened by anxiety over the condition itself.

Think of impotence, partial impotence, and other forms and degrees of erectile dysfunction almost as depression, which is an emotional state of mind.  Sure, depression can be caused or contributed to by medications or physical ailments, but it is exacerbated by anxiety and uncertainty caused by the condition itself.

I know this sounds repetitive, but it really is a case of a vicious cycle that can deteriorate further with added anxiety.  Once a man experiences erectile dysfunction, his mind many times can be his own worst enemy.  After the first experience with impotence or incomplete ejaculation or other types of dysfunctional occurrences, many men find that their thoughts turn to fear about sexual performance failure every time they are about to have sex with a partner.

This fear alone can make sexual dysfunction worse, as it can paralyze the senses and the will to have a normal erection because sexual arousal begins in the brain, and negative thoughts, fear and anxiety can interfere with this first vital point of sexual arousasl.

The sexual arousal begins with a thought, sight, taste, touch or smell which sets off an emotional response tied to sexual desire for a man, which then sends the consequential nerve impulses to the penis, and then causes the penis spongy chambers to fill with blood, and the penis to become erect and full which can be helped along by some natural male sexual enhancement supplements

Any disruption in the process can result in any level of erectile dysfunction.

Low Testosterone Levels?

Testosterone is the primary “I am man, hear me roar” hormone among the androgen (male hormone) family of hormones and by far the best known in this entire sector (who hasn’t heard of testosterone?  It’s practically a verb in it’s own right).

Androgens are responsible for the development of masculine characteristics in all vertebrates (aka humans, anything with a spine basically) by a process where it binds to the androgen receptors.  This all sounds foreign, I know, but trust me there is a point.

Androgens are the overseers of the activity of all male sex organs (including the penis and testosterone production) and the development of secondary sexual characteristics, like a man’s deep voice, male body and facial hair, broader shoulders and chest, a heavier bone structure than women, larger and more dense muscle mass and more coarse skin.

Testosterone, the kind of all androgens, is mostly secreted in the testes and then secondarily by the adrenal glands, which is something I did not previously know.

The functions of this powerful hormone are so very closely linked to the mental and sexual well-being of men, that a dip in the level of testosterone produced by the body is enough to bring about dramatic changes in any man.  This is where a testosterone enhancing supplement can work wonders for you.

What this type of supplement does is naturally boost your testosterone, and even your semen production, for improved sexual desire and a higher output of testosterone, naturally.  More on testosterone level issues next time…

Natural Aphrodisiacs - Herbs that Help to Increase Sex Drive

There are several herbs that, when taken together, have been demonstrated to have a fairly singnificant effect on male and female sex drive. Let’s examine what they are:

1. Damiana

2. Passion Flower (what a coincidence!)

3. Horny Goat Weed (wow - another coincidence!)

4. The Catuaba and Muirapuama plants of the Amazon Forest - especially potent to restore sex drive and help cure male impotence when used together

5. Guarana - probably mostly because this is an overall stimulant and energizer, it can be used in combination with other ingredients like the ones above supposedly to increase overall sexual function and help heighten the pleasure of a sexual experience.

Bottom line is, more men and women are turning to supplementation to improve their sexual health and their sex life. Sex is a great outlet for stress, and is just a human craving that everyone has - it’s only natural to feel somewhat detached and more stressed when your sex life is not as active.

Usually an active sex life proves to be revitalizing through all parts of one’s life, and tends to make the stressors in life a little easier.

The causes for a diminished sex drive, or libido, are fairly numerous, and are gaining more attention as this world becomes a higher stress place to live for both men and women. Some of the causes for decreased sexual function in men and women are:

1. Phsychological (stress, conflict, depression, anxiety, etc.)

2. Related to a medical or biological condition

3. Hormonal

4. Nerve related (ie nerve damage)

“Hostel” Sexually Charged

This is a little off topic, but I thought “male news” worthy.  Has anyone seen the gorefest horror movie Hostel?  I must say, I hated this movie in the first half hour, with it’s substandard writing and reliance on stupid sexual subplots and buddy movie cliches.

But this movie really grew on me throughout, and I ended up rooting for it’s main character, Paxton played by Jay Hernandez (the lucky bastard that was in the move with Kirsten Dunst “Crazy/Beautiful”.

Hostel was definitely sexually charged.  There were lots of naked women, boobs and butts shown, but somehow the movie scraped by without an NC17 rating.  It’s a Rated R - don’t ask me how.  Anyways, if you can just suspend all reality and deal with bogus lines, a questionable script, some bad acting, and cartoon like over the top violence, you might actually find yourself guiltily enjoying the hell out of this movie….

Improve Libido and Impotence

Although a decreased libido is an affliction that most commonly effects women, men are making more and more complaints about this condition, perhaps to a changing society where spare time is becoming more and more scarce, and both women and men are just quite frankly strapped for time and sapped of extra energy to create any fantastic sparks in the bedroom.

With men, often a low libido and impotence go hand in hand, but there are ways to improve both your libido and the problem of impotence all in one, naturally. Men often turn to Viagra and the likes of this common and (in my opinion)over-prescribed impotence and libido improving drug, and actually may be even putting their health and well being in jeopardy all in the name of saving a relationship or their self esteem, both of which can be severely damaged by lack of libido and impotence.

Let’s face it, we are all sexual creatures, and we all crave intimacy, and we should crave it fairly often - the problem is, many of us don’t - this is what has been the breaking point of many relationships since everyone wants to feel desired, loved and sexual all at the same time - and these feelings all go HAND IN HAND.

The supplements for male enhancement recommended in the links above in this weblog forum are all excellent for targeting both your sexdrive, your longevity in bed, and any problems with getting or maintaining an erection all at once.

It is actually a libido enhancer that also greatly improves impotence by helping you get AND maintain an erection, as well as improving libido. Most men who take this natural supplement report a substantial improvement in their libido as well as less occurrences of impotence - and many times NO occurrences of impotence.

And, over time, the results just keep getting better and better and the natural ingredients sustain themselves in the body due to repeat treatment, and take control of your sexual function, making for an overall great improvement to your libido and impotence issues.

Side Effects of Viagra (Sildenafil)

Thought I’d do a little investigating on the side effects of the Viagra male sexual enhancement drug, which is probably the most widely known drug of its kind still today, followed by Cialis. Viagra’s generic name is Sildenafil, and the brand name also goes by Revatio.

First of all, the primary prescribed action of Viagra (Sildenafil) is to relax the muscles and increase blood flow to particular areas of the body, namely the penis and its chambers which fill up with blood during sexual arousal (or at least they are supposed to). Viagra’s primary use is to treat men with erectile dysfunction, but it is also used secondarily to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Probably the most concerning of Viagra’s side effects is the reports of possible heart implications, and the reports of deaths from men who used the drug who were not the ideal candidates due to their age of their physical fitness level. In other words, if you have any family history of heart disease, heart attacks, or other heart conditions, you should probably avoid Viagra like the plague.

The other concerning reported side effect is problems with vision. A small number of patients became partially of completely blind from the use of Viagra. While the number is relatively small, this is still a huge concern, and a huge reason not to take this drug in my opinion.

Doctors have been advised to not prescribe this medication if the patient has any history of the following diseases or ailments:

Heart disease or family history of heart disease

Over 50 years old

Have diabetes

Have high blood pressure or a history of high blood pressure

High cholesterol

Patients who smoke

Patients who have eye disease or vision problems

Impotence Drugs Linked to Eye Damage Risk

Male Impotence Drugs Possibly Dangerous for Eyesight? Another Good Reason to Go Natural for Impotence Treatment or Other Sexual Dysfunction..

In a recent story out of London, it was disclosed/discovered that impotencedrugs such as Viagra and Cialis can increasethe risk of eyesight and eye damage - especially men with a history ofheart disease of high blood pressure.

According to the study performed byscientists at the University of Alabama, men who have heart disease or havehad a heart attack were ten times more likely to suffer damage to theoptical nerve than men who had not experienced a heart attack or heartdisease. Tests were run on the most popular and widely used male impotence drugstoday, Viagra - made by Pfizer, and Cialis - made by Eli Lilly.

So far,Viagra has changed their labeling to note the possibility and instances ofoptical damage - as of yet, I don’t believe Cialis has instituted anydifferent labeling or warnings on their bottles/labels.In conclusion, the scientists strongly recommended that patients bestrongly warned against taking a prescription impotence drug if they havehigh blood pressure or a heart condition.

Other side effects noted are as follows:

Viagra: Less common side effects that may occur are temporary changes in color vision (such as trouble telling the difference between blue and green objects or having a blue color tinge to them), eyes being more sensitive to light or blurred vision.

Cialis: may uncommonly cause … vision changes, such as seeing a blue tinge to objects or having difficulty telling the difference between the colors blue and green.

Levitra: may uncommonly cause … vision changes, such as seeing a blue tinge to objects or having difficulty telling the difference between the colors blue and green.

Snafi - The First Arab Drug for Impotence

Per the Director of the Drug Control Department at the Ministry of Health of Arabia, the new impotence drug, dubbed “Snafi” produces more effective results than any other product of its kind currently marketed. It was also indicated that during clinical trials and studies, this new drug for impotence did not product any types of heart problems, or make any heart problems worse, as was feared with Viagra and its predecessors.

Not sure if this product will EVER be released in the US though, knowing the stringent trade relations we probably have in place regarding pharmaceuticals.  I’m sure the American pharmaceutical companies would balk at that!

Snafi has been registered by the GCC Central Department for Drug Registration and will soon be registered also in the UAE market for sale and distribution.
