Besides surgery for penile enlargement, are there any other surgeries that are typically performed on the penis? 

Well, the only other surgery I’d really heard of that was performed on the penis itself, and not just on the tubes when a man would get “fixed” and have a vasectomy, was when a man would need to have his penis repaired in some way, like say John Bobitt, who notoriously had his penis cut off by an angry wife.

But, apparently there are other reasons besides penile enlargement that men need to have surgery on perhaps their most beloved and treasured and protected part of their anatomy.

Some of the reasons for penile surgery may be that there is a buried penis shaft, meaning almost the entire shaft of the penis is “buried” in the body and needs to be coaxed out surgically.  Other penile deformities ranging in a vast array of deformities such as a short penis, an extremely small penis, or otherwise deformed penis may warrant surgery.

Also, scarring may warrant surgery on the penis as well.  Many times men have to undergo surgery to correct penile enhancement surgery that has gone awry (imagine that). 

There are other things that are in the category or a deformation such as penile fat nodules, and a penis that hangs abnormally low and must be pulled up, and no we don’t mean by penis enlargement exercises, but by actual surgery, which involves pulling skin up. 

I’d imagine this could also get dangerous and awfully embarrassing, although most men might consider a large, low hanging penis to be a blessing.  I’m sorry, but no one is going near a penis with a scalpel without a very good reason!

Boy oh boy, just another reason to keep that prostate healthy!  I recently read an article that links the typical treatment for prostate cancer and a shortening of the penis.  This means your penis becomes smaller, shorter to be exact, and most men do not want this unless they are already hung like a horse or something!  Why exactly does the prostate cancer treatment shorten the penis size?

Well, many men who have prostate cancer treatments for local prostate cancer, receive a combination of a hormone treatment along with a series of radiation treatments.  Research shows that these treatments together have resulted in a significantly shorter penis in a lot of men who have had the combo therapy.

The research was done on a group of men who received this combination therapy for prostate cancer, and it was found that the average penis shrinkage after eighteen months of treatment was astoundingly high - about 2 inches of shrinkage, or even a little more, give or take a few centimeters. Up until now, the evidence that radiation therapy alone could shrink a man’s penis was purely anecdotal, but now this new study appears to prove that at least the hormone combo therapy with radiation tends to shrink the penile length significantly.

Why can’t it do the opposite, like make these men’s penises grow larger, at least, so they can have a good side effect?  But no, we all know things don’t usually work themselves out that way, that’d be too lucky!  Perhaps these men, after successful treatment, could embark on a penis enlargement exercise program and that would help to stretch the penis as well as re-train it to grow longer on its own.   

Remember how we reported on the potential misgivings of penile implant surgery?  How it was a little too easy to get a “botched” penis implant job, and also how the potential side effects and dangers were just plain old not worth this still high priced surgery (yes, it is not coming down like women’s breast implants are, perhaps because a lot of men don’t relish the idea of someone cutting into their penile tissue simply to try to enlarge their member). 

The average price for penile enlargement surgery, or penile implant surgery, is around $9,000 to $10,000, for both the lengthening and thickening service (which is what most men would want I would think, so their penis is both wider and longer, instead of a “pencil” penis or a short and fat penis). 

I guess there are options to get one or the other done, but as I said I’m not really sure why a guy would just want lengthening and not thickening, or vice versa.  That’s a pretty expensive surgery, especially for a procedure that still, unfortunately hasn’t made great strides in efficiently providing a larger penis through surgical intervention. 

Overall, unfortunately, penis implant surgery is really only recommended for men who have had some sort of trauma and need rebuilding of the penis in order to get and maintain an erection.  There are just too many risks, including the inability to get an erection, infection, penile implant migration and other risks that are just too tricky to come up with good solutions for given the fact that this part of the body is used so often, and there is a lot of room for error and trauma to the area after surgery. 

So, it’s a tricky one, but I’m sure with all the medical advances today, and the popularity of penile enlargement options, they may come up with some medically acceptable and low risk way to surgically enhance penis size without jeopardizing performance.   

A lot of guys have the question “does size REALLY matter to women, or is it how you use it that matters most”.  Well, a lot of women do have the cliched view that bigger is better, and in fact, many women do prefer that their partners penis is bigger, for the simple fact that they get more sensation, the man can penetrate more deeply, and the width, girth and length of a bigger penis tends to rub up against the vaginal walls in all the right places, making a woman have more sensations. 

It also is much easier to create the necessary sensations on the “G spot” and other highly sensitive areas near the clitoris if you have a bigger penis, so, unfortunately, yes, men with bigger penises do have an advantage performing sexually over men with smaller penises in many ways.  However, there are a few women who prefer men with average or below average penis sizes, but unfortunately, as with everything American, most women have the “bigger and more is better” outlook on this part of the male body. 

Men also like to have a bigger penis, because they feel more confident, as a man’s penis is the ultimate symbol of his manhood.  A man likes to have a thicker, larger penis because it looks more visually stimulating, he feels like he can really please a woman sexually, and he is not embarrassed to go naked in a locker room. 

These may seem like very simplified, dramatic statements, and in fact just hearing me say them kind of makes me feel bad, but these are the facts.  These are the reasons the penis enlargement industry is so huge today.  Ehem, no pun intended. 

Seriously though, there are some excellent natural penis enlargement methods and products out there that really have helped and do help men with a small penis get a larger, longer and fuller penis.  You just gotta know how to shop for them. 

I’m not sure how accurate this is, just as a warning before you laugh - because it does sound totally ridiculous, although I can see men of all cultures going to great lengths to enlarge the size of their penis through exercises and all sorts of other tricks like that.  Well, I read that men in an ancient culture actually made it a practice to try to make their penis bigger by actually tying heavy stones or large rocks to the end of their penis and letting it literaly hang there for minutes or hours. 

They would work their way up to longer time periods, and heavier stones, and they actually were judged on this as sort of a societal stature thing as well from what I understand.  It must have worked, because this practice continued for quite some time.  Seems guys in the old times were just as aware of the importance of penis size in fulfilling his woman too, eh?

We’ve discussed before here how penile enlargement surgery, which is meant to actually lengthen or widen the male penis, has quite a long ways to go in the realm of safety issues and even problems with penis functioning and ejaculation or orgasming after the surgery. 

There is another surgery that can also be performed, which is part of the penile enlargement family, which actually says it can widen the penis (the girth of the penis gets bigger).  It’s basically called penile widening surgery, and rather than focusing on the length of the penis, it focuses on the penile girth rather than the length, for men who might be content with  the length of their penis but want to have more width.

It’s just a guess, but I would assume the risks to the fat transfer penile girth expanding surgery might be that the fat cells have a chance of migrating or disappearing, as many other surgeries which require fat transfers do.  Also, there may be issues with men performing sexually, but this is a risk with any penis enlargement surgery, since you are basically interfering with the “plumbing”.

A now 68 year old Rhode Island man, named Charles Lennon, received a penile enlargement implant 10 years ago, in 1996, when the penis implant surgery was just starting and in its experimental phase, so that he could maintain an upright erect penis in order to have sexual intercourse.
