Monogomy Too Unrealistic?
In this day and age of sex being sold to you everywhere through all different mediums, beckoning and calling you at any given moment of the day, it’s hard to keep from having a wandering eye if you are in a monogomous relationship, whether you are a woman or a man. Recent news even suggests that this gets even harder when you have any sort of wealth or power attached to that, or any type of celebrity, since these types of people typically thrive off of excitement and newness in the first place, and they have many more opportunities to stray on monogomous partners than the average Joe Schmoe does too.
So is infidelity and hopeless fleeting eyes something that only belongs to the rich and famous, or is it something that us every day folk have to deal with as well? Well, put quite simply, everyone has to deal with it. I don’t care if you’re married to a supermodel, you’re going to eventually get used to looking at them, and the way they like to be touched and the way they touch you, and it’s human nature to wonder about what other people must be like as lovers and what they feel like and look like without their clothes. Many women will admit this as well, it’s not just a guy thing.
We all get restless every once in a while, and that’s why solid monogomous relationships are built on open and honest commnciation between the two of you. It’s also built on a genuine desire to keep the relationship sacred, and by to keep things exciting by changing things up every once in a while, especially the longer the two of you have been together.
Monogomy benefits us as humans in a lot of ways. First off, it benefits us on a physiological level because we aren’t sleeping around, boudn to get any one of the major STD’s that’s always floating around out there, so it’s better for our health. Number two, unless you’re in a rocky marriage, it keeps you from the daily drama and uncertainty that new sexual relationships always tend to bring, so it’s sort of a protective mechanism emotionally as well. Monogomy is also better for us financially in general. Studies have been done that show that people who remain married for their lives are significantly better off than those who divorce.
For men, many studies have shown that men who are in married relationships are generally much happier and more content, and they are also less likely to die a premature death than single men. They also tend to live a little longer in general, so those are all things to think about as well.

Man Suffers 2 Day Erection, is Awarded Nine Mil
In one of the largest awards to date for men having something go awry with their most prized treasure, a 53 year old man was awarded nine million bucks for his pain and suffering, and by the way, also permanent scarring, for treatment he underwent for erectile dysfunction.
Now brace yourself. You know what kind of treatment it was? It was one of those ones that makes every man shake in his boots, where a needle of medication is injected directly into the penis itself, so that the man may obtain and maintain an erection. The stuff that’s actually injected is an opium related concoction that is supposed to increase blood flow. I don’t care if you’re shooting pure gold into my penis, that is just plain scary getting anything put into your penis with a needle.
I have a hard enough time with shots and getting blood drawn, I think I would pass out at the sheer sight of a needle that I knew was intended to be injected right directly into the chambers of my beloved penis. Yes, I called it beloved, so what!? You know that’s what you’re thinking too!
And increase blood flow, it did, to the extreme for this poor guy. He was given the shots originally in the office where he purchased them, and then he was supposedly taught how to administer them himself in the most delicate of delicate areas, at home.
He maintains that he was misled about the treatments, but the men’s health clinic maintains that he was properly taught. At any rate, he was in pain and discomfort for two whole days, and he also has some scarring involved as well, not mentioning the emotional scars I’m sure this traumatic experience included.
Priapism, which is the definition given to long lasting erection, is actually a known potential side effect of any erectile dysfunction drug, but this is extreme, and since he also endured the scarring, that probably accounts for his large award from the court. I’m willing to bet the medical company appeals though, so it may be reduced in the future. What do you think his trauma is worth!? Hard to say what kind of price tag to put on that kind of a scare, but I was a little surprised at the heftiness of the price tag.
So fellas, before you go out getting shots, please check out some other natural means of male enhancement, you see what happens when you start messing with things unnaturally like that!?

Letterman Sex Scandal
David Letterman, who has cracked jokes on the air for about twenty years now, and who is one of my favorite late night hosts aside from Conan O’Brien, has apparently been involved in some extracurricular activities with women he has worked with, that have gotten him into hot water with an extortion attempt by a producer of a popular television show. It’s amazing to me how many people that are famous or rich have been blackmailed with embarrassing information about their personal lives.
We’ve had John Travolta, who was blackmailed with documents in the death of his son by a medic who worked the case (shame on these people, really, it’s disgusting and inhuman to even think of taking advantage of people like that), and then there was a case with a famous coach who had an extramarital affair and then was blackmailed over that as well.
Now, David Letterman has surprised his audience a few nights ago with claims that he was attempted to be blackmailed a few weeks ago when he received a package in his car after work from someone claiming that they knew he did some bad things and had the proof to back it up enclosed as well.
The extortionist was wanting to be paid $2 million to make these claims, which incidentally, Dave himself admitted (I gotta give the man serious kudos for admitting it instead of giving into this scumbag), are true, disappear into thin air. Apparently when the blackmailer was presented with a fake $2 million dollar check, the fraud was completed, and he was arrested.
Dave then came out on his show and admitted to affairs with women he works with over several years saying that he wants to protect people’s privacy and needs to do the right thing. The audience was reportedly kind of confused over whether this was part of a bit for him or was actually true, nervously laughing during certain parts when he attempted to make jokes out of an obviously precarious situation. More and more of these sex scandals seem to be making their way out, it’s no wonder that women even trust men with money at all!
I guess that all’s fair in love and war, and obviously there is a lot of regret in this case. We’ll see where things go from here.

Are Men Really Ready for Sex Any Time?
I hate to break it to the ladies who might believe that us men are super-sexed up freaks all the time, ready to dive in, so to speak, at the drop of a hat, to a great sexual interlude, but it’s not true. Maybe there are a few men out there that fit this bill, I’m sure there are since there are always the one offs to every rule, but most men defy this mythology of men constantly wanting and ready for sex, and they actually have to “be in the mood” if you can believe that, kind of like a woman.
Albeit, we may get turned on or typically want sex more than the average woman, but we still need to have some sort of a turn on that occurs, we’re not just always ready with the flip switch. We actually have a breaker that needs to be tripped, so to speak! So I’ve found out being in a relationship with my girl for several years now, that a lot of women have this misconception about men, and they actually get sort of hurt if they’re in the mood and you happen to not so much be in the mood.
Of course this doesn’t usually happen in the first year or so of a relationship, because you’re generally ready to tear eachother’s clothes off at any given moment during those formative months of a relationship, but as time goes on, and more is required to keep things spicy and interesting, these cases can crop up more and more where you and your woman don’ t really sync up with eachother on the desire spectrum and therefore you keep missing the beat to go at it when you’re both in the mood. Such is life, and such is relationships!
But yes, ladies if you are reading this, it’s not just your guy, and no, he’s most likely not falling out of love with you, but most men do have to be stimulated or be in the mood in the first place to engage in sexual intercourse with you. you could be a supermodel, and this is still the case with most men, so it’s not you, it’s us. Of course, there are tons of great libido enhancers that you can use to get us in the mood, so make sure you have your little bag of sexy tricks stuffed with those my friends!

How Often Do Men Stare at Women?
You’ve always heard the glib remarks about how often men think of sex in a day, and it’s often some astronomical number that seems like all we men do is sit around and drool on ourselves thinking about our next sexual encounter, or women we’d like to bed, or just dreaming up sequences about Jane Doe at the office that we’ve always had a crush on. And while partly this is true as most men do spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about the deed rather than actually doing it, there is another fact that has to do with sex that we don’t think about as often. One of those facts is, how often do men typically stare at attractive women in a given day?
The study was carried out in Britain, but it probably is somewhat indicative to what their overseas counterparts would do, so it’s good enough. There may be some slight cultural differences that would skew the results, but you catch the drift. When surveyed, British men indicated that they usually stare at about ten women in a given day, spending roughly 43 minutes of their day enjoying the looks of a female. Wow! What if you don’t even leave your house in a day? Does online oggling count or not? If it does, then I guess that would make sense, sometimes you don’t even see ten women that you deem stare-worthy in a day!
When this all adds up at the end of a typical male life span, men spend nearly one whole year of their life looking at the opposite sex. Hmm, that’s actually about right. After all, we are hard wired to constantly seek out mates, so it does make sense that we would spend about a year of our life at least scoping out the goods. Even married men do it (and so do you women, don’t deny it!). There’s no harm in it as long as it’s not “creepy” and obvious, and as long as you don’t take it too far and embarrass your significant other if you ask me. We can all look a little and enjoy the scenery even if we’re attached, it’s only human.
Men surveyed indicated that their favorite places to give women the once (and twice) over was at bars and grocery stores. So ladies, you’re not even safe when shopping I guess! I’d never thought of the grocery store to be honest. She’d have to be pretty gorgeous to get my attention there when I’m focused on getting grub for the week.

Claims that Sperm Cells Made of Stem Cells Not True
Stem cells seems to be a huge buzzword these days, what with the controversy over using them in research for treatments and preventive medicine for various diseases due to the moral aspect of using something that could potentially become human life and essentially destroying it. All stem cells are destroyed in the course of research, since they are used as guinea pigs in various tests to figure out how to make things to further the human cause and treat disease that are otherwise hopeless. Where you stand on that debate probably greatly depends on your religious background, since most people who have serious reservations about stem cell research have these reservations because of their faith.
Whatever your belief, there was some interesting news that came out a few weeks, or maybe even a few months ago (time is flying by this summer, it’s always so scary how quickly time goes).
There were scientists who claimed that they had created sperm cells out of stem cells. This wasn’t a totally far cry if you think about it, since stem cells are sort of the basis for a lot of other types of cells and living organisms, which is exactly why they are considered so precious, they can be used in a variety of ways to create all types of cells and recreate damaged nerve cells, etc., which is why they are considered for very important in research against autoimmune and nervous system diseases which have very little options for treatment so far with out this stem cell research.
One of the vocal people you may recall that have campaigned for stem cell research is Michael J Foxx, because he has Parkinson’s disease, and many think that stem cell research can greatly benefit those with nervous system disorders that are otherwise pretty hopeless and don’t have much treatment available that actually improves the quality of life.
Apparently though, the fact they there were even spermatazoa created from stem cells in the first place was highly debatable, with some being critical because the study did not conclusively show that the resultant cells were identical and would act like sperm cells, so therefore could not be treated as such. They did exhibit sperm cell qualities, however they questioned whether they would actually act as sperm cells and create life if they came in contact with a female egg. The journal that originally published the information retracted the statement originally because they said the information had been plagiarized, although they still back up the research behind the reported finding.

Marriage Still an Insitution?
We have a wedding this weekend, which got me thinking. Is marriage the same instituation that it was, say, fifty years ago, a hundred years ago? The idea is still supposed to be same, “til death do us part”, but the divorce rate says otherwise, and the idea that marriages these days seem almost disposable kind of disgraces the institution, but hey, we would rather be able to get out of a marriage that turned sour and makes us miserable, rather than staying in something that is not right, or that is actually bad for our mental health. Divorce can be a good thing, but in my opinion, people jump into marriages these days without really considering the give and take, the sacrifice, and the patience that goes into it when you really truly and deeply love someone and are in it til the “end”.
Another thing that got me thinking about marriage is the fact that a dear family member of mine is dying right now, of prostate cancer. Just seeing what this terrible disease has done to his body and mind is disheartening, but his girlfriend of several years, mind you they never got married, has been taking care of him right up until the end. And it hasn’t been easy. Sure, they’ve had their ups and downs over the years, but what struck me is that she said it’s really shown her what love is.
Marriage is still an institution that a lot of people believe in according to polls, and according the statistics that say that almost 86% of women marry by the time they are forty years old, women still believe that getting married is the right thing for them. However, this paradigm that women need to get married for security or to avoid “old maid” status is really shifting, and especially with Hollywood being somewhat of a bellwether for the rest of the world, many women are staying single for as long as they can, enjoying indepdendence and freedom before starting a family or a life with a husband.
Sex hasn’t really altered the status of marriage as a desirable institution. Although our sex lives have become more open and less inhibited, marriage still continues to be a tradition, and with that monogomy follows suit, at least for most people we hope. Sexual boredom doesn’t have to be a reality in marriage. Of course, the occasional lull in sexual activity is to be expected in any marriage or relationship, after all, we are all not just sexual nonstop energetic robots. We’re people, and we get turned on and off by certain things, and this changes over time.

Want some Coffee with that Viagra?
Well, we’ve heard about a lot of so called herbal supplements for male enhancement being revealed as nothing more than thin diguises for prescription hidden drugs in the ingredient list (of course, not openly listed on the label, so of course this is a total no-no according to the FDA, which is more than right in their view on this), but now I think I’ve heard it all. Of course I haven’t, and some other wild stories will pop up next week, I’m sure, but you know what I mean.
Multiple herbal formulas have been booted from the market over the past few years due to the fact that they contained prescription male enhancement and impotence drugs such as Viagra and Levitra, so it’s definitely lended itself to some doubts about the herbal industry, but a few bad apples shouldn’t spoil the bunch since most of them do play by the rules and only infused their formulas with herbs and natural ingredients, many of which mimic the effects of prescription drugs, just in a milder, and supposedly safer way.
Recently, in Maylasia, at least not in the United States, almost 1,000 boxes of coffee that authorities say are laced with the male impotence drug Viagra were taken away in a raid. The coffee was sold as an energy enahncing drink and performance enhancer. It was basically marketed as a booster for energy levels, with an added “benefit” for men, which slyly disguised what they were trying to say, but still got the message out that men may experience a side benefit of enhanced sexual performance if they were to imbibe the darkly roasted coffee laced with sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra.
The coffee was sold at a premium too. It retailed for almost five times the price range of regular coffee without all the added stuff. Wonder how they go caught? Perhaps someone noticed that the stuff had other side effects and reported them. You never know how these guys actually get caught, but most of the time I’m willing to bet it’s sort of by mistake, that someone experiences negative side effects and symptoms and it’s discovered accidentally that they have a drug they are not known to be taking in their system. That’s just my take!

Mark Sanford, Noooo!
Great guys, we have another politician coming out all teary eyed about an extramarital affair. What, do all politicians cheat on their wives now? Jeesh, if I were a woman and my husband wanted to get into politics, I think I’d have to put my foot down and say no, because it seems that sexual liaisons outside of marriage seems to be a hazard of political duty these days. Who will be the next politician coming out about cheating on his spouse now? That’s what I’m wondering! At any rate, it gives pause for us to think about why cheating on one’s spouse is such a big deal to us Americans.
After all, there are some civilizations that allow multiple marriages, polygamy, outside sexual partners to a marriage, prositutes, harems, and more, so are we just too uptight here in America, or what’s the deal? I’m sure there are a lot of men out there who’d like it if their wife was ok with them having the occasional extramarital daliance, but the truth is, that even if a woman says she’s fine with extramarital daliances, there will always be some kind of jealousy and resentment there, and guys, don’t you think that if you allowed your spouse extracurricular activities that you wouldn’t be jealous too, it’s just human nature.
I feel particularly bad for the wives of the politicians, like the latest Mark Sanford the SC governor and a rising start in the GOP, who have to face the public scrutiny for their husband’s infidelity. For example, I’m sure that the last thing on Jenny Sanford’s mind (his wife) is his career and how he looks. Heck, she probably would love nothing more than to knee him where it hurts most, but yet she has to put on her gameface for the good of her family, although I’m sure inside she wants to scream.
It isnt’ just limited to politicians either. Remember when Kobe Bryant was accused of rape, but he actually just had an extramarital affair on his wife? Think of how embarrassed she must have been, first that he was accused of rape, and then the lesser charge of extramarital sexual intercourse. Maybe all those diamonds make up for it, but I’m sure that’s gotta hurt the pride. A lot of women do stand by their men, even though from the outside looking in it’s easy to say once a cheater always a cheater, there are often children involved and other emotions that we don’t even get to see, so in the end it’s a personal choice.

Diets That Build Muscle in Men
All men want more muscle. That’s kind of like the ultimate goal for most men when they embark on a workout regimen, unless of course you are one of those guys who cares more about your cardiovascular exercise than building muscle mass, but I think that the majority of men out there also do their workouts for a somewhat vain reason, which is to look better. The standard for a fit looking man right now is for him to look ripped and muscled, and there’s no denying that the ladies usually love at least a little bit of the rippled look, although most women agree they don’t like the body builder look, because it’s just too over the top.
By the way, I’m going to digress, but I just watched a really good documentary on this very subject called “Bigger, Stronger, Faster” by a film school graduate that was pretty good. It was essentially about the way that HGH and other muscle building but potentially dangerous drugs that build muscle faster and villified by the media as being dangerous and life ruining. While I still agree with the media’s assessment, his documentary did enlighten me a bit I suppose, although if it’s all true then why is half of the professional wrestling world dying horrible deaths at early ages and getting publicity for having bad tempers?
That’s part of the bad media about steroids is that they make you angry and your temper flare much more readily and that it also is hard on the heart, makes you have acne a lot worse and also may accelerate hair loss in males. Enough on that though. Let’s talk about how you can naturally improve your muscle tone and build muscle rather than take drugs and supplements to build muscle tone (although I do personally advocate taking some supplements, but only the natural ones, not the stuff you inject!)
Well, first off, you do have to take in more calories than you burn in a day, since muscle is built on calorie consumption, but you have to limite your fat intake since fat will increase your body fat content, which obscures your muscle under fat. Here’s the foods you want to increase as a male who is trying to build muscle : lean meats such as fish and poultry, lean dairy products like skim milk, yogurt, cottage cheese and such, leafy greens, to help your body flush out excess fat and build muscle more easily, eggs, but really egg whites are what you want to focus on, only the occasional yolk, and other lean, low fat foods that are high in good protein.
You want to stay away from fat and salt as much as you can, but of course you still want to include the healthy fats in your diet like omega 3′s that you get from almonds, nuts and olive oil.
