The former MTV show “Jackass” enjoyed a long run on the Music Television Network about a decade ago, but some of us, and many of us men, still hold a dear place in our heart for the stupid, juvenile stunts and humor that were brought to us by the epitome of irresponsibility entrepreneurs, Johnny Knoxville (no that’s not his real name), Steve O (the eternal pot head and biggest daredevil of any of them), and Chris Pontius (who can forget his Party Boy character with the animal print thong?).

It may be mostly a thing that guys love, that appeals to their eternal sense of juvenie irresponsibility and good times, unencumbered by the mature thoughts that prevent most of us “adults” from doing half the crap they do, but a fair share of women love the show, and the movies as well, as testosterone filled as they may be.

I remember former girlfriends liking the show because they thought that Pontius and Knoxville were hot, but the cooler chicks I dated definitely dug it for the same reasons I did. It was funny, and at times it was so funny that you wanted to pee your pants and roll on the floor.

Now, with their new Jackass movie out in 3D, apparently there are still a lot of us out there who want to see this ridiculous display of irreverence and frivolity. It’s made a ton of money so far, and this is almost a decade after the show stopped running on MTV.  The fact that it is also in 3D may have made it a little bigger an attraction, but I’ve heard so far that the 3D effects are few and far between.

I haven’t had a chance to go see it yet, but I do plan on seeing it when it comes out on Blu Ray. I’m not a huge fan of 3D movies, they actually give me a bit of  a headache, so I figured this would be a good one to see when it’s out on DVD.
