Well, this certainly is a new one to me. I’ve heard of oysters, cayenne, other exotic spices, and even some veggies as being natural aphrodisiacs and male sexual enhancement agents, but I had never heard, until now, that watermelon may be suspected as a natural male enhancer. Too bad I hate watermelon!
You may be in luck if you like this pink, seeded fruit though, because some research at Texas A&M is showing that the fruit may have certain properties that liken it to the likes of Viagra, Cialis, and other male enhancement drugs when it is consumed. The specific effects they say they’ve observed are that it has similar effects on dilating the blood vessels that erectile dysfunction drugs do.
Erectile dysfunction drugs work by helping to open the blood vessels that are responsible for the blood flow to the penis, which we all know is what engorges the penis, making it fully erect and ready for action. While I’m sure watermelon doesn’t provide the same concentration, it may help to open these when eaten on a regular basis, and may actually have health benefits beyond just sexual.
Scientists think that the compound found within watermelon that causes this relaxation and opening of the blood vessels is one called citrulline, and also state that watermelong is beneficial in many other ways because of their nutrient qualities beyond this citrulline, which is believed to be the culprit in the blood vessel relaxation because of the body’s conversion of it to an amino acid called arginine, which is a common ingredient in a lot of Viagra alternatives.

Well, in this day and age, it must be hard to raise a child, no matter what the sex is. Jeez, just hearing about the girls who supposedly might have made a pregnancy pact with eachother in a recent story in the news, and this one, it’s hard to believe that some kids really do stay abstinent until they at least reach age 20, or actually feel ready to deal with the repercussions of sexual activity.
In a PA school district called the Delaware Valley district, it seems the STD’s, or sexually transmitted diseases, have run rampant and are infecting a high percentage of their students. Not only that, when surveyed, many as young as twelve years old in this district admitted they were sexually active. I wasn’t even thinking about sex that much when I was twelve, and here now kids are already well into their sexual activity many times at that age!
The percentage is high in this particular PA district, about ten percent of them are infected with some sort of STD, most of them being HPV, which is actually a very common virus that is sexually transmitted, and is closely linked to the development of cervical cancer in women if left untreated and if of a particularly virulent strain or of a certain specific strain.
And it just begins there. One student in this district actually tested positive for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, and over twenty young ladies have tested positive for pregnancy. I’m just wondering why these young people don’t really think it’s necessary to at least practice safe sex if they are going to be fooling around in the first place. I remember when I was young, being in that situation would have been the worst, most devastating thing to happen to me.
At such an early age, you really limit your opportunities by getting pregnant or getting someone pregnant, and the course of your life is forever changed. It’s before life even starts, and you’ve already put yourself behind the gun. I know abstinence education doesn’t work well, but there’s gotta be a way to really get that message into kid’s heads.

It seems that there has been some scientific unearthing of similarities found in the brains of sexually straight women, and homosexual men, explaining why some men may be automatically predetermined as far as their sexual orientation and preference goes. The area of the brain that gay men and straight women share the similar characteristics are in the centers for emotions, mood and anxiety, making them inclined to be driven by the same emotions and motivators that women are.
Although these similarities were shown in brain scans, and in fact the same parallel was drawn between gay women and straight men’s brains, they are reluctant to say whether these individuals were born with these traits or whether this was some sort of a gradual change or evolution once the person aged (environment for example).
For example, the similarities may be due to exposure to certain hormones while in the womb, or they may also be a combination of pre existing brain structure combined with the “nurture” aspect, which means that their environment and upbringing may also play a part in which sexual orientation becomes the dominant theme in the men’s and women’s lives as they get older.
Many scientists believe that these new discoveries showing different brain attributes as related to sexuality is a combination of both environment and upbringing, and exposure to events etc that shape a person’s personality and ultimately maybe even their sexual preference, and there also may be some sort of biological forces at work as well, meaning that it really is partly genetic forces that are shaping their destiny as far as sexual orientation.
