New studies and survey results are showing that when women choose a male mate to settle down with for life, they may want to stop looking in the GQ model arena and start looking more for the average joe computer nerd arena if they want to have a more content and happy marriage. When women were surveyed who were more attractive then their partners, they reported being happier and more content in their marriage, as did their husbands.
So it seems that when women pick mates that are perceived to be less physically attractive than themselves, they set themselves up for a lifetime of a more peaceful and happier marriage. Further, men who were surveyed who were more attractive than their spouses were more likely to report feeling unhappy in their marriage, and discontent.
However, when couples were surveyed where the wife was more attractive than the husband, both the man and the woman reported that they were happier in their marriage.
Researchers think that this dichotomy is because women tend to pick men more based on their abilities to provide them with offspring and also to provide for and take care of a family, while men are programmed to look for more attractive mates who can provide them more attractive offspring, which is often equated with better health, prosperity and longevity.
The long and the short of it is that men and women are both stereotypical in how they search for and land life mates, men go more on physical appearance, and women go more on the provider and virility factor I suppose.

So, it’s long been sort of a cliche that men are the ones who most often have what we call affectionately “beer bellies”. But beer bellies really aren’t a laughing matter as they used to be a few short decades ago, since now we have medical evidence that show men with large, centrally located fat deposited in their bellies, or guts, have a much higher likelihood of dying earlier than those that do not have fat in this area, and specifically men who have beer bellies are much more prone to heart disease. But men aren’t the only ones, women with belly fat are also more likely to suffer heart disease, and strokes as well.
While there may not be concret evidence telling us WHY those with more belly fat are more likely to have health problems, the correlation between the two remains. With about 2/3 of American men being overweight or obese, this has become somewhat of an epidemic in the US today, especially since we’ve seen a staggering increase in the amount of heart disease, diabetes, and associated problems.
Women are more likely to store their excess fat (which is essentially excess calories that our bodies store), they tend to store them more in the buttocks and the thighs, whereas men tend to store this fat in their bellies. When we store too much fat in one centralized location like this, it tends to throw off our blood glucose levels and this can in turn throw off how we release sugar, our blood sugar, and can lead to problems like diabetes which then of course increases heart risks.
It’s pretty easy to tell if you store all your excess fat in the belly just by looking at your body. Men can measure their waist to hip ratio at a gym and a fitness expert can tell them how much they need to cut downt their beer guts in order to have a healthy ratio and to help avoid these health issues that are associated with “beer bellies”.

Testosterone levels in men have always been linked in one way or another to their sexual drive, appetite, or libido. Men with low libido, or sex drive, often seek help because this is usually considered to be a sign that a man is not producing enough testosterone. But libido is not the only thing that may be affected negatively by lower than normal testosterone levels, your overall health and especially heart health may be affected if your testosterone levels are low.
Those men that naturally have higher levels of the male hormone testosterone circulating in their bodies often have a better chance at surviving heart attacks that otherwise may have proven fatal to other men, and also improves their risk factors for strokes, which is something that happens in both men and women when blood flow to the brain is interrupted and brain damage or even death often occurs.
The researchers who had headed up this ten year research on the links between testosterone levels and male health are quick to say that this does not mean men should immediately seek to supplement their diet with testosterone enhancers, which are administered medically, because they do not fully understand the link between higher testosterone levels as it relates to health, and even if it is overall beneficial or if it’s a wash when it comes to risk levels for certain diseases and disorders.
Not only that, but they fear that testosterone therapy may lead to it’s own separate set of problems. By looking at this sort of research, it seems that the perfect level of testosterone for men may be actually a normal, or middle level, this way they are smack dab in the middle of the risk pool for certain types of diseases and disorders.
They also do point out that it appears they have made a definite connection between higher levels of testosterone and mortality rates for cancer and strokes improvement in men. However, higher levels of testosterone have also been blamed for fueling the growth of cancer cells in men with prostate and other types of hormonally related cancers, so this is kind of a catch 22 type of situation.

A British boy who is only two years old has the unfortunate distinction of being somewhat of a rarity, in that he has a condition called pulmonary hyptertension, which causes a constant state of high blood pressure. Because this can close off the veins and arteries, and Viagra is a male erectile dysfunction and sexual enhancement drug that dilates the blood vessels and dramatically improves blood flow, daily doses of the drug are actually keeping this poor little boy alive.
The little boy’s mother has actually recently started a petition to stop the government from rationing certain types of medications which happen to include Viagra, and controlling their distribution, because of her boy’s rare health problem. Call me crazy, but wouldn’t you think the government would make an exception here as a no brainer? It only seems logical to me, unless things are a little different over there in Britain. I wonder if herbal male enhancement supplements would provide that same result?
Viagra actually can be used in other ailments for improving circulation and blood flow, because I have read about this being used in other cases as well, where the blood flow and circulation were impaired, and taking a drug such as Viagra promoted their survival by promoting a healthier circulation of blood throughout the body.
Ironically, this improved blood flow is also what has some people worried to take the drug, since it can lead to heart troubles for those with pre-existing conditions, because it dramatically increases the volume of blood pumping through the veins at one time, some believe.

What I believe is the number two male sexual enhancement drug in the US, or at least the most popular alternative to Viagra in trusted reliability and brand name recognition, Cialis, has just been approved by the FDA for a once a day use by men who want to improve their sex lives by increasing their sexual response time as well as making their longevity in the sack longer and providing a better lovemaking session consistently for them and their partners.
The makers of Cialis claim that by taking the specialized daily dosage rather than taking the drug in anticipation of having a sexual encounter where there is only a window of opportunity to seize the moment, men will not have to worry about having sex within the designated time frame put forth by manufacturers and instead will always have lower doses of the sexual enhancement drug in their system, so that they are, so to speak, always ready for action at the drop of a hat.
The specilized daily dosage of Cialis is to be for men who anticipate having sex twice or more a week, so that they don’t have to worry about popping the pill for every little sexual encounter. It is not said how this new daily dosage would affect sales of the drug, or affect quote unquote “recreational usage” of the sex drug for men, but makers are confident that men will be happy with the daily dosage and how it affects their worries on timing for having sex. After all, timing is everything, and it’s nice to have that spur of the moment sex that seems so much sexier than planned sex once in a while, isn’t it?
Of course, news of the FDA approval of the daily dosage helped to spike the company’s stock price, even though they are not specifying the pricing of the daily dosage and whether it will significantly increase their profits. Pretty impressive, considering the stock market’s been in the dumper lately that the stock spiked.

Well, this is one of those very scary news story that, thank God, is a very rare occurrence, that makes all of us look at our loved ones and thank the heavens that they are still with us. It also makes us very aware that life is precious and even the most seemingly harmless little surgeries are in fact, surgeries and still present some sort of threat to our health if our bodies do not react favorably and/or predictably toward them.
The 37 year old man, Jem Abbott and his wife Karen, had decided that after two children they were done having kids, so Jem decided to have the vasectomy, which is a very low risk and relatively painless and easy procedure that is done under local anesthesia. Jem was told the same thing that every man about to undergo a vasectomy is told, that the procedure was relatively quick and painless, and that he just may experience a bit of swelling and tenderness in the area afterwards, but he would remedy that with the typical ice packs, or bags of frozen peas as more commonly prescribed.
However, Jem started feeling badly and vomiting and having diarrhea just days after the surgery. Unbeknownst to him at the time, his body was experiencing a deadly reaction to surgeries, in which the body actually attacks itself instead of the infection (I guess this can also happen any time there is infection, not just in surgery cases), called septicemia. Jem unfortunately succumbed to the deadly bacterial infection in which his body attacked itself in one week after his low risk operation. The doctor had apparently prescribed antibiotics to fend off what he thought was a normal bacterial infection and it was already too late.
Septicemia is extremely rare, and therefore is rarely talked about in the media and news stories. A good thing, because this clearly is a tragedy since a father of two has been taken from his young children after undergoing what he thought would just be routine for him. And why wouldn’t he think that? Our heart goes out to the Abbott family.

You know how there is always this pervasive attitude that women like longer sex better? Well, that may not always be the case. In fact, especially in couples that have been together a long time, sex that is just minutes long many times quantifies a “satisfying” sexual experience in the eyes of sexual partners.
However, there still are those that need to have intercourse for a longer time to be able to achieve an orgasm, as is the case with man women who are lucky enough to achieve vaginal orgasms, which are much more intense reportedly than externally stimulated orgasms, which usually originate with the clitoris being stimulated.
In surveys recently done women and men responded that the majority of the time, sex that averaged around three minutes long was sufficient, although they did not really say whether occasionally a long romp in the hey would be preferable. I myself think it’s a tossup. I think longer sex, like the kind you have when you’re first with someone, is better especially for the woman, but in many cases, whether it purely be a time issue or just impatience, we think shorter sex is just fine because we simply can’t go on that long without thinking about what else it is we have to do now in our busy lives.
Supplements like the popular VigRX (see english review here VigRX review and Revision de VigRX in spanish for reviews of the top male sexual enhancement product), promise longer sex because it is still the status quo of what women like in the sack, because they many times do take longer times to achieve optimal sexual pleasure, unlike men who are programmed to get sexual pleasure even from the shortest of sexual situations.

Well, it certainly appears that the level of housework a man does in a relationship with his spouse or significant other definitely proportionately relates to the amount or frequency of sex that he is having with said partner. And why would these two seemingly unrelated items be related in any way? Well, I’m sure if you ask any women she’d tell you the answer.
It is because it is one of women’s number one complaints in relationships and marriages with men, is that the man does not do his fair share of the housework and she ends up resenting him for that, and whether it be consciously or subconsciously, she ends up with holding sexual interaction with him because of it. Of course, other factors may enter in as well, but housework remains one of the number one tension creators in male and female relationships.
Throw into the mix the fact that women have picked up a lot of the financial responsibilities in the household as well, and it’s no wonder women are feeling frustrated. Whether men want to admit it or not, they actually still expect their female counterparts to do the majority of the housework, the cooking, cleaning and child rearing if there’s a child involved, and women are starting to report that they are feeling not only worn out from doing it all, but also resentful toward their partner if they are not picking up their fair share of the housework.
But men have been picking up the slack as it has been reported by various studies and surveys, because men have about quadrupled in their housework capacity over the past few decades, thanks to changing ideals and the fact that most women are out in the work force. It’s no longer the happy, simple situation in those old sit coms like Leave it to Beaver, where June Cleaver was home all day cooking and cleaning and taking care of the kids and has dinner all ready when the guy walks in the door. Oh no, women are out in the work force and contributing financially to a couple’s home and bills, so things have changed dramatically in the paradigms of what a man and woman’s “duties” are in the household.
Men are getting better, women are saying, but they still feel they get the brunt of the housework, and if you want to keep your lady happy, not only should you be getting her some female sexual enhancement helpers like chocolates and flowers, but you should also be pitching in more around the house. Apparently it’s an often overlooked aphrodisiac for women!

I always knew there was more of a reason than hurt pride and a stinging butt when I got spanked as a child, and this must be it. Of course, I’m being a bit facetious, because I’m not sure how much this truly may affect kids as adults as this news claims, but it may have a speck of truth to it I suppose.
New “research” is claiming to show a correlation between adults who were spanked frequently as children and having sexual problems as they mature. Here’s where it gets a little scary - it’s the type of sexual dysfunction that people who were spanked, slapped or otherwise physically punished for misbehaving when they were children experience that’s kind of scary and may make parents think twice about getting physical with their kids for being bad and instead opting for more of a psychological approach to punishment.
Adults who report being physically punished as children report more sexual problems such as engaging in sexually risky behavior, which may include promiscuity, they also engaged in more fetish type sex like masochism, and may also have fetishes about being spanked during sexual intimacy, or they also may be more verbally coercive, or even want to get more physical during or before sex.
It may have more to do with how the individual child that is spanked looks at the correlation between love and physicality. They may subconsciously look at love as being accompanied by physical punishment, or in less severe cases, they may just have small fetishes because they experience feelings of love or satisfaction subconsciously while experiencing feelings of physical pain.
Pretty bizarre stuff, eh? Sounds like some Freudian type of theories to me, but I suppose it makes sense, only for certain people though. I think it really probably depends on the relationship between parent and child and the context in which physical punishment was used, because I was spanked as a child, and do not experience any of the above sexual problems.

In the ever evolving world of prostate cancer research and new therapies for the disease being studied, as well as new preventive maintenance and testing and news on how to prevent the cancer from occurring in the first place, there comes news of a possible shot that protects against prostate cancer in men, at least male mice so far.
Mice are often used in animal trials for potential human cures and therapies because their bodies run very similarly to the human body and immune system, and they have certain genetic similarities which make them some of the best test subjects when testing for how something may work in the human body. Weird, because they couldn’t look more different than humans in size and in other aspects, but that is the strangeness that is genetics!
It’s important to note that it has been tested on mice that are genetically predisposed to getting prostate cancer, just as human men who can also be genetically more predisposed to getting cancer. By early indications the results certainly do seem exciting, at the very least, as scientists are saying that it’s looking like so far they are giving these mice lifelong protection against getting prostate cancer by giving them one shot. They are looking at it as sort of a “vaccination” against it.
The animals that were predisposed to getting prostate cancer had already had precancerous lesions when the shots were administered, and at quite a young age. As horrible as it sounds, I’m thinking they were genetically engineered by science to have prostate cancer at an early age. It’s hard to talk about that, and seems very cruel, but many believe that harming animals in order to save human lives is worth it.
The prostate cancer vaccine uses genetics to suppress the PSCA, which is an antigen that is overly expressed in men with prostate cancer. The vaccine stimulates an immune response to the PSCA, and that is how it works in preventing full blown prostate cancer. This does sound very promising. Let’s hope that all the red tape doesn’t slow the progress of this making it’s way to market. For the sake of all men and their prostate health and continued longevity.
