Teen Sex and Births at All Time High?
Well, it’s unclear whether there is a direct correlation between more teens actually having sex, or if more of them just happen to be more fertile or are throwing caution to the wind when it comes to birth control and STD protection, but teen births are reported to be at an all time high right now, something that is not good news after we just reported that teens seem to be making more of the better decisions when it comes to sex just a few months ago.
However, there may be some good news in the increase, since health officials and people that actually keep track of this sort of data are not sure of the reason for the sudden spike in teen births. They actually say that they cannot find any reasons for the sudden spike in teen pregnancies and births, but they also say that because of that this may not be the beginning of an unwelcome trend toward teen pregnancies and the practice of unsafe sex, but rather may be somewhat of a statistical coincidence at this very time.
That means that they cannot find any evidence that this trend is continuing, but just that it “happened” to trip their radar at this time as an unrelated event to the actual trends that are happening in society right now. With the Bush administration pushing abstinence only birth control and sex education programs, this is certainly not a good sign that it’s working, however researchers are clearly not willing to jump to the conclusion that this is a continuing trend, unless of course, time proves otherwise.
Is it increases in male teen fertility due them taking some sort of super pill like the best multivitamins for men, or is it something less scientific (hee hee) like a simple dichotomy of statistical data where it just happens to correlatively increase at a certain time?
Hmm, good question. One thing’s for certain, if this pregnancy and teen birth trend continues, then we know we have to re-work the current sex education programs and focus more on safe sex, and preventing pregnancy and STD’s, since we obviously know kids are gonna do what they’re gonna do, and we cannot prevent them from doing that. A lot of it comes down to parenting too.
A parent’s values they instill in their kids, especially at a young age, should stick with them, and if a teenager is really educated as to what sex can do to you, both mentally and phyically, and the importance of not bringing a child into this world before you’re ready, then that at least gives these kids a foundation to go on and make their own educated decisions when it comes to sex.
Now this is a far cry from bad parenting, which would be getting their kids sexual aids like deer antler plus and their girls female sexual enhancement products! Talk about sending kids the wrong message about sex! That’s like buying alcohol for your kids and telling them how bad drinking and alcoholism is, or telling them how bad it is to drink and drive, then buying them the liquor!
