Mr. Big Reprises Role, Re-Igniting Double Meaning Name

OK, so I know this is a blog for guys, about men’s health and sexuality, but every once in a while I will show my “feminine side” by talking about some news that some people might be surprised a guy knows, cares about, or knows any background of.  This is one such story!  Well, if any of you ever watched the show “Sex and the City” with Kim Catrall, Sarah Jessican Parker, and two other ladies who lended a little to the story but not as much as the two main characters, then you know that Sarah Jessica Parkers lover interest in the show is called Mr. Big.

The Mr. Big character is played by actor Chris Noth, who currently is starring in one of the millions (seemingly) of Law and Orders series.  It was just announced that he has indeed signed on to be on the feature movie that is modeled after the popular HBO series.  It is probably the HBO series that earned HBO’s notoriety for excellent original television cable programming, because I think it actually was even before another great HBR series, The Sopranos.

Well, the reason we’re talking about Mr. Big here may not be so obvious, but it does have to do with the male ego and penis size.  You see, everything about a man who is viewed as “manly” is “big”.  So, adequately enough, the shows producers decided to call the one guy that Carrie cannot get on the show, or nail down for some reason who seems unattainable and somehow perfect for her “Mr. Big”.  Meaning what, they’ve been asked, to which they reply whatever you think it might be.

Well, when a guy is unattainable and the object of women’s affections, of course many times the saying goes that they must have a large penis, right?  Mr. Big is sort of based on that premise, as is his name, but everything else is big about him too.  His lifestyle, his ego and his paycheck.  And, well maybe his penis too!
