Put Down the Can of Soda!
This is not really on the subject of male sexual enhancement, and is not specific to men’s health as it affects all sexes, but I thought it important enough to post, because I’ve always thought that pop/soda, whatever you call it in your neck of the woods was perhaps capable of causing serious health problems.
And I just might be right about this. Of course, there have been ongoing studies and assumptions that the fizzy treat probably wasn’t the best thing for you, but most people thought it was because of the sugary quality of the soda. Well, it doesn’t matter if it’s diet or not, because apparently the problem is what companies use as a preservative to keep soda “fresh” that causes problems and potentially serious health risks, according to some medical professionals.
The problems stems from a chemical used to keep the soda fresh and making that “psst” sound when you crack a can or open a bottle of fresh, referigerated bubbly stuff. This is a real bummer, because I typically like to wash down a naughty McDonald’s double cheeseburger and double naughty large fries with a Diet Coke (go figure, why even bother with the diet, right?), and I don’t really think it would all taste the same without that cup of fizzy goodness.
It’s called sodium benzoate, and the problem occurs when this chemical is combined with vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, which is often added to sodas for preserving flavor, freshness and color. When these two chemicals combine, the produce something that is very unhealthy indeed, called Benzene.
Benzene has been thought to destroy healthy cells, and can be linked to any degenerative disease, as well as linked to cancers, liver problems, you name it. In short, soda could seriously damage your cells and lead to a bevy of terrible health issues. I have to admit, I’m a huge fan of Coke products, but after reading this article, I really am not any more.
It’s just not worth it. I feel like when I drink a can of pop, I’m just destroying the health of my body, and is the bubbly, fizzy stuff, really worth it in the end? Why can’t they just come up with different preservatives??
