When I first started reading this story about a man who is charged with raping two seventeen year old girls in a dungeon-like area and then leaving them both bound and gagged presumably to die, and heard some of his accusations against the girls, I must admit, I kind of thought maybe the guy had a point that he might have been set up and the sex was consensual. 

But then I read that the same man was convicted several years ago of raping a twelve year old girl, and had a new conviction that this guy was a scumbag who almost got away with something heinous again.

Here’s how the story goes.  This guy says that he was charged with raping the two young ladies after dragging them from their beds late one night and then leaving the bound and gagged to die (however they were either found or escaped, but that is not elaborated on in the news story). 

He claims that these two young women actually consented to the sex, there was no dragging from a bed, and actually they bought a sex toy and demonstrated how to use it for him, and then had consensual sex with him, asking for money to boot after it occurred.  He said that the two young ladies were supposed to help him paint the next day, and he was surprised when instead police showed up with an arrest warrant for him the next day. 

He says he thought they were there to search his place for marijuana, which he says he had stashed in his basement, so he panicked and ran.  He then says that he only found out what he was being charged with and spun his tale (which, we don’t know could be true, but seeing how the man has been convicted of a sex crime previously, that puts a serious damper on his case). 

We’ll see what the jury decides, but my hunch is, his history is pretty damning and he will be convicted unless there is compelling proof that he did not commit the crime and the sex was in fact consensual.
