NY Implements New Condom Friendly Policy

The health department for NY city, who has established various methods to help control and cut down on unplanned pregnancies as well as STD’s, or sexually transmitted diseases, via condom use, has traditionally handed out condoms for free by the bucketloads to people in need of protection.

The old condoms were wrapped in a simple, non-labeled wrap.  Well, not any more.  In an effort to “brand” themselves, the health officials have decided to give the condoms their own identity and actually add to the fun and identifiability of the condoms by printing things like city scenes and other scenes identifiable to NY city on the packaging so that they are recognized and perhaps a little more readily used since they tend to stick in the minds of their potential users a little more.

They haven’t actually decided on a theme yet to print on the packaging, but the city scenes are in the running for a possibility so far (I like this idea, gives NY a little something to identify with).  The free condoms are typically distributed in free clinics, bars, health clubs, night clubs and other areas where young people tend to be gathered who might be most affected by unprotected sex.
