Stressed Out? Have Sex!

Well, that’s what Hollywood star Cameron Diaz says, anyways, and I happen to agree with her.  Not only Cameron has been quoted as saying that sex is a great stress reliever, but many doctors and therapists will tell you that sex is not only a great way to get closer to your partner and argue less with less tension, but is also an excellent way to forget about your worries, and just think about your body and your partner’s body.

Sex has been shown to release certain calming chemicals into the blood stream that are unique in that some of these natural chemicals can only be emitted into the body from sexual intercourse or sexual arousal and orgasm.

Sex is such a unique form of stress relief that it has a calming effect without necessarily becoming a sedative effect, so in other words, you can have sex for stress relief and return to your normal routine for the day, but with a renewed sense of vigor and energy, as well as a unique sense of calm and tension and stress melting.

I think we all have those times that we go through “dry spells” where we aren’t getting enough sex, and it really wears on our energy levels, our self esteem and our stress levels.  I know personally if I go a few weeks without sex, it becomes harder to focus, I feel more aloof to my partner, and my stress management skills become nil.

When I do then have sex again, I can manage my stress levels much more effectively, and have a more enhanced sexual experience the next time, since it hasn’t been too long since the last time (plus you last a lot longer!  we all know that, now don’t we?)
