Men’s Colon Cancer and Exercise

There may be another reason for you to get your butt off the couch and get on the treadmill, eliptical or rowing machine (does anyone even still use those?).  New studies are showing that men who exercise have a better chance of not getting colon cancer than men who do not when it comes to a fairly deadly cancer.

The test subjects in this battery of tests were ordered to go from being pretty sedentary to working out fairly vigorously for about an hour, six days a week.  This is actually quite an ambitious workout schedule for many, but if you work it into your daily routine somehow, say like before work every morning, it’s definitely not impossible.

To make a long story short, the doctors told this test group to not change their diet.  They told their other group to not exercise, but also to not change their diet.  Guess who ended up with less polyps and other abnormalities in the colon which typically can lead to cancer?

You guessed it - the men who exercised!  Goes to show, men’s health can be greatly impacted in more areas than just the psyche and sexual prowess, but it can also have a great deal of impact in other areas of male health.  Add another good measure - a men’s multivitamin, and you may just be doctor free for a while.
