New Levitra Ads Target Diabetes and High Blood Pressure

New ads on TV for the popular erectile dysfunction sexual enhancement product for men (affectionately referred to as “ED” in the advertisement), features two men, one black man and one white man, talking about how their struggles with other health issues have caused ED, or erectile dysfunction for them.

One man talked about how his diabetes caused erectile dysfuntion, and another talked about how his high blood pressure caused erectile dysfunction.  The message of the Levitra advertisement?

That men who suffer other chronic health issues should also be aware that they can cause erectile dysfunction, which is a common sexual disorder as men get older due to increasing health problems.

High blood pressure and diabetes are  both problems that tend to occur when a man gets older, so I can see why they are targeting men in this way, to make them aware that ED is caused by other things, it’s not always a “self contained unit”, as some men and women may think of it.
