Incidence of Herpes Strain on the Decline

The previous sharp increase of the Herpes Simplex 2 strain of the virus which is spread sexually, is on the decline after a sharp rise started in the late 1970’s.

The Herpes 2 virus is actually one of the most commonly sexually transmitted diseases today in the US, so the decline is a welcome sign of a lessening spread of the disease. The virus is actually much more common in women than it is in men.

The Herpes virus is basically a lifetime affliction, and only the symptoms can be remedied by certain medications. Also, the medications commonly prescribed can prevent the herpes transmission from one sexual partner to another, especially when used in conjunction with condoms. Not too great of an aphrodisiac, or way to attract a woman I know, but oh well!
