Teen Sex : Make Up Your Mind!
Can these so called “survey takers” and “studies gurus” make up their darn minds? How many times have I gone back and forth, reporting that teen sex is on the rise….oh wait no, it’s foundering, oh wait no now more teens are choosing NOT to have sex early on.
Yep, that’s just about how it goes I guess. I’m not sure if the trends in teenage sexual activity really does go up and down that often, or if these studies and surveys are extremely flawed, but the latest reports are that fewer US high school students are engaging in sex, and further, in sex with fewer people if they are sexually active.
The good news is, this good report was from a respected authority on this and other subjects where communicable diseases are concerned, the CDC, or Center for Disease Control, so hopefully this one if dead on, and our teens are having less sex, getting less STD’s , and generally not screwing up their lives at such an early age.
The percentage of high school students who claim they’ve engaged in sexual activity, including sexual intercourse, has gone down several percentage points since this gauging survey first started in 1991, which is a sign that either the sexual climate has changed in high schools, or kids are just wising up, waiting to have sex until they know it’s the right time for them.
Better yet, the kids who are sexually active now are less likely to have sex with multiple partners by the time they reach the end of high school. This figure also went down almost 5 percentage points since 1991 according to the results.
This newest teen sex report was made puclic just before the important 16th annual AIDS conference, which is supposed to be the largest international conference on AIDS located in Toronto and starting on August 13th 2006.
