Women Sexually Favor Men with Deeper Voices
It has long been a traditional “wives tale” kind of saying or thought process that women gravitate more toward men who have deeper, more masculine voices. Well, apparently, this is not wive’s tale, nor is it untrue.
The speculation on why this may be true ranges from a perception of masculinity in a deeper voice versus a higher pitched, more feminine sounding voice.
Another is that men with deeper voices tend ot match those voices in size (at least this is what woman correlates with a deeper voice), and women tend to gravitate toward men they perceive as more fertile, virile, and able to defend and care for them.
This stems from an insinctual sense women have to seek out more masculine men. The interesting note is that men who are taller do tend to have deeper voices, since they have longer vocal tracts and vocal folds, which make for a deeper pitched voice.
Another interesting fact is that women show favoritism to men who have lower, more masculine voices during the ovulation period of their menstrual cycle, which is when they are more likely to conceive a child - it’s kind of nature’s way of self-perpetuating, if you know what I mean.
The way a man sounds, or the degree of the depth of his voice, are also correlated to levels of testosterone, the male hormone that makes a man a “man” in a woman’s eyes. This shows more sexual prowess as well as a more dominant personality, something that many women find attractive in men (well, at least at first I guess
