Men Who are Circumcised Infected with HIV Less?

There’s a new awareness being spread now, that circumcision just may save you from HIV infection if God forbid you ever are exposed. The WHO, or World Health Organization actually reported this saying that circumcising more men in Africa may help prevent the spread of the disease, which unfortunately has spread like wildfire over there, because of rampant rapes and absence of condoms.

The research trials showed that men who had been circumcised demonstrated a significantly lower risk of infection with the AIDS virus. It is estimated that roughly 2 million HIV infections could be avoided if all men were to be circumcised over the next ten years.

How Does Circumcision Mitigate the Risk of HIV Infection?

Scientists on the trials believe that circumcision helps cut infection risk because the foreskin is covered in cells the virus can supposedly infect more easily than if the foreskin was absent, as in circumcision. Not only that, but the AIDS virus has a better chance of survival, like any other virus, in warm and wet conditions, as those that are found in the foreskin area.
