I ran across some items in a magazine lately that had some interesting ideas on how to spice up your sex life. I will try to remember the general gist of some of them but I’m going to share some of personal views on this from personal experiences. Some of them are the same ol’ “better sex tips” you hear all the time, but some of them I’d never heard, and never tried. So, here goes.

Surprise your lover with something romantic like candles and an erotic video that you can both enjoy. My personal choice would be “The Masseuse” with Jenna Jameson and her husband in it since it’s not just full out porno that guys like and girls hate, but it’s got a story to it, and a little romance - something for ladies and men. Believe me, women love porn just as much as men do, you just have to pick the right one. Love scenes are good too.

Women many times get excited just watching a good love scene in a movie, or a sexually charged movie like 9 1/2 Weeks, Dangerous Liaisons, or even something with great, visually stunning sex scenes with a good looking guy, say like Pierce Brosnan and Renee Russo in “The Thomas Crown Affair”.

Visual turn ons are mostly a male thing, but women get turned on by visuals also, there just has to be a little more to it than “hitting the skins” if you know what I mean.

Don’t eat too much before a sexual rendezvous. One of the biggest sex killers is when your lover and yourself have just plowed down enough food to kill a horse. Who wants to have sex when you are all bloated and may even have gas? Not sexy at all. Eat light and maybe drink a glass or two of wine. Wine is a great natural aphrodisiac for most women, and for some men too.

Skip the talking about mundane. There’s nothing that’s more of a buzz kill than “honey did you take out the trash” or “honey did you remember to pack my lunch for me tomorrow” as you’re undressing eachother. Keep the everyday, mundane conversation out of it. Try talking dirty to eachother. Once you get over the fact that you think you sound ridiculous, and start to realize your partner can get turned on if it’s not viewed as a joke, you will find bedroom talk a huge bonus for both of you!
